NU.net chess tournament! **IN PROGRESS**
NU.net chess tournament! **IN PROGRESS**
So, the tournament has started! Here is the current bracket:
(The Grey "Bye" players are basically nobodies who automatically lose the game, giving you a free win. They are necessary for bracket balance because there was an odd number of people who entered, and were automatically generated by the program I'm using. This might seem strange to you, but if you do the math, it's fair in the end.)
Round 1:

Remember that in double-elimination there is a winner's bracket and a loser's bracket. You must lose twice in order to be out of the competition, so if you don't win at first, don't abandon all hope.
The games should be played using Chess.com or the Chess.com Facebook app.
Once you sign up, you can ask your opponent for their username and challenge them here using the usual game options.
If you have your opponent added on Facebook, you can also do this within the app.
You are given 3 days to make each move, but games should be completed as quickly as possible.
Once you've completed your game, one person must report the winner/loser by making a post in this topic. I'll decide how to handle discrepancies once they come up, if any.
Good luck to everyone, and if you have any questions feel free to ask.

It actually work to ivite to Live Chess too. The difference between Live and online is that Live chess is faster and better. I just gotta figure out how to ivite. Should be done tomorrow or somethingg and then it will be easier to play chess without have to update.
Re: NU.net chess tournament! **IN PROGRESS**
That wouldn't work since you can only do Live Chess with special modes as far as I know and everyone's playing until checkmate in this tournament.Johannez691 wrote:It actually work to ivite to Live Chess too. He needs to study and practice (although it probably wouldn't make a difference)RaveComing wrote:I've sent my challenge to Maikel like 2 days ago now, I'm only waiting for him to accept it
TimeToE, I'm going to drop Jordz a line now.

It's all fine really, I'm just saying why our bracket isn't advancing fast. Re: NU.net chess tournament! **IN PROGRESS**
RC and Maikel are taking forever because Maikel made a mistake or something, TimeToE and Jordz aren't doing much better. At the same time it's good however because Raver isn't going to be here for 2 weeks.

Re: NU.net chess tournament! **IN PROGRESS**
He went on vacation, he can only use the Internet while at an Internet cafe and even then it wouldn't be for very long periods at a time. We'll probably need to wait until he comes back.Johannez691 wrote:Why is that?Kirby wrote: Raver isn't going to be here for 2 weeks.

I told Maikel how we could solve his mistake in 2 moves each, it's really up to him.Kirby wrote:RC and Maikel are taking forever because Maikel made a mistake or something, TimeToE and Jordz aren't doing much better. I was going to say that you were basically going to win two games because two people made the same retarded mistake. After seeing how TimeToE lost his queen however I will notRaveComing wrote:I told Maikel how we could solve his mistake in 2 moves each, it's really up to him.Kirby wrote:RC and Maikel are taking forever because Maikel made a mistake or something, TimeToE and Jordz aren't doing much better. Re: NU.net chess tournament! **IN PROGRESS**
The difference is that I noticed the mistake before RC made his move while Raver did not. Unless there's a rule for touching this wouldn't have happened in real life, which is why I thought it was fair to tell him not to take it.Kirby wrote:I was going to say that you were basically going to win two games because two people made the same retarded mistake. I already invited RC (well I hope so). Correct me if I am wrong but I remember I was up against the winner of you two. And sorry if i dont respond too fast at the moment, currently a bit busy with school and other things. Sorry
Re: NU.net chess tournament! **IN PROGRESS**
Too lazy to update brackets atm but yes TimeToe plays RaveComing, Johannes plays Jordz, and Maikel plays Caddy. And it would be a good idea for you guys to speed things up a bit now that Raver is back from vacation and not make one move per 24 hr or anything.
