As formerly touring a lot with DCX I've been wondering if there are any deejays or groups performing nightcore tracks live or at shows? S3RL is sort of there but more happy hardcore?
Which country and/or town would be most "packed" with nightcore fans? Japan/Tokyo sure have a bit of everything but... Most of the plays for DCX releases come from Oslo and Stockholm but also Hamburg, London and LA. Would be an interesting idea to do some specific gigs in this genre if some venue or booking agent would show interest.
Nightcore shows?
Re: Nightcore shows?
There hasn't been any live track or shows of Nightcore yet. It's good music but also a pretty small niche.
I can always hook you with the folks at www.di.fm for a live show in the Nightcore channel. Note that we have around 170 people listening to Nightcore in average at all time, so it's not like it is really popular :)

Re: Nightcore shows?
Maybe if Nightcore was more well defined (in the public eye) and socially acceptable in general. A good chunk of people just see it as a cheap way to rip off/refresh the original, and that integrity aspect is more important to them than what it actually sounds like. A lot of my friends, when the topic Nightcore comes up, would just say something like "but it's just sped up music", and leave it at that. At best they'd see it as a meme of sorts. That part of the population, plus the effects of social pressure, should cut of a significant portion of the possible audience.
And as for those who actually actively listens to Nightcore, well... pick a random set of people who enjoy Nightcore, and I mean the popular definition of "Nightcore = any genre sped up", and you will probably find a bunch of different preferences that don't really line up at all. I mean if I saw a poster for an upcoming Nightcore DJ show, I would have no clue at all what to expect from it. My gut instinct would be that the music wouldn't be for me, probably faster versions of the latest hits in Pop, Rock and EDM.
A good starting point might be to do something like a Happy Hardcore or UK Hardcore show, but with a few similar genres here and there, including Nightcore. Get some sneaky Nightcore in there, if you will :P Going pure Nightcore right away is probably not a good idea, it's far too out there. Maybe if there was some way to set people's expectations straight, but how?
That said, hearing Nightcore on something on a more impressive sound system than my headset would definitely be an experience.
