Re: How to Nightcore a song! (NIGHTCORE TUTORIAL)
Yeah, I know, I increased them both up for 23%.
Okay, so, I do:
File > Export > Now I have to pick on how I'll save the File. Randomly, it is put under WAV (Microsoft), which is for Windows, I use Linux.
Should I save them under MP3 Files?
Also, I do not see any option for me to be able to save in a different Quality/Definition.
What should I do and where can I find the changing, do you know?

I haven't used wavepad for quite some time, but i remember that when you save the file it will give you some several quality options(mhz and kbps) and to choose between mono/stereo.Peter wrote:Yeah, I know, I increased them both up for 23%.

Try using 320 kbps and stereo with mp3.
Also: video editors might ruin the quality as well so make sure you choose the best options there as well too.
Re: How to Nightcore a song! (NIGHTCORE TUTORIAL)
I cannot use WavePad, it is just for Windows, I use Linux.
I used Audacity.
I saved it under "MP3 File", but the Quality is still really bad.
Know any other Editors like WavePad that are also accessable by Linux?
Thanks.

Re: How to Nightcore a song! (NIGHTCORE TUTORIAL)
I see, anyhow, thanks. :)
I have saved it under MP3 Files, 320 kbps, Stereo.
But there still is that annoying scratching and low-quality. :/
Must be the bad Editor that ruins the sound... thanks again on helping!
I just have one more question since we are up on this topic, what is the difference between Stereo and Joint Stereo?

I'm not sure if Virtual DJ works on Linux, but if it does, you should use it since it gets a really good quality, however, it takes a while to record the song.

Re: How to Nightcore a song! (NIGHTCORE TUTORIAL)
Are you still accepting help with Audacity? I'm quite the audiophile and use Audacity as my only editing tool, so I know it quite well.
First off, the guide in the first post for Audacity is outdated - it does not mention the "Change Speed" function under the 'Effect' menu. This will "nightcore" a song in a single step and will preserve quality better.
Secondly, when you are testing and adjusting how must you should speed up the song, be sure you undo and/or start from the beginning each time. This is because every edit you do is layered on top of the last edit, not re-done using the source audio, and therefore can also cause quality loss.
If THAT doesn't even help, try using lossless audio source in combination with my tips. Converting from lossy to lossy is not really something that should be done, especially since older lossy formats like MP3 were designed specifically for converting from lossless.

Yeah, I have figured all that out, thanks anyway.
As soon as I get into something interesting, I try everything out about it, no worries. :)
The issue was with the song, because the second song I Nightcored went smoothly.

Re: How to Nightcore a song! (NIGHTCORE TUTORIAL)
There's also the "set rate" setting that darned near nobody knows (or cares) about that technically allows for lossless Nightcore edits. The difference is that instead of resampling during the encoding process, you resample at playback, and therefore can preserve more of the waveform if 96khz playback is supported.
I made a whole post about it here, but I was shot down on the basis of Nightcore listeners not caring about quality:

Re: How to Nightcore a song! (NIGHTCORE TUTORIAL)
I'd like to experiment with my pitch and tempo while also adjusting the beat abit.
I am now testing some new programs such as PCDJ which I use to increase the pitch even more.
But anyways, it really is a nice tutorial :)

Make sure that the Vocals and the Beat will be balanced, you do not want to make the kick of the bass overpower the Vocals. :DTheRagingGymnast wrote:I'd like to experiment with my pitch and tempo while also adjusting the beat abit.

I'm not really an expert at Nightcoring, but I have uploaded some stuff and I used VDJ on a few and they turned out fine :3

You can't remove the vocal of a song without making it sound pretty bad. You should google it and if you're lucky you can get a less shitty file, but won't get a perfect one at all.sammydjones123 wrote:Hey I'm new to the site and I was wondering how would I get just the instrumentals to What Hurts the Most? I nightcored tracks on "WavePad", then i use "MAGIX Video Pro X5" for attaching picture.
And now question:
what better format to export video from "MAGIX" and upload on Youtube in ratio size/quality?
what format you use for uploads on Youtube?
p.s.
Sorry for my english

Are you allowed to nightcore Arabic or African songs?
What about songs from Central America?

After reading that link, I'm thinking that only genre matters, not language or country of origin. Am I correct about this?Zurd wrote:http://www.nightcoreuniverse.net/viewto ... f=17&t=930Fernandez wrote:Are you allowed to nightcore Arabic or African songs?

Zurd is right, Fernandez. Country or language doesn't matter, just whether or not it's techno or dance.
So yes, if you find, say, a techno song from Sudan that's in Arabic, you're free to nightcore it.

Re: How to Nightcore a song! (NIGHTCORE TUTORIAL)
I think that "Never go mainstream" is a good rule of thumb to follow. It's been said time and time again by Maikel and other people that mainstream nightcore is bad, that it's a respect issue, etc.
Given the current state of mainstream music, it's generally best to stay away from any song that's playing on the radio.
Here are some reasons I thought of on why you should avoid nightcoring mainstream songs:
Given the current state of mainstream music, it's generally best to stay away from any song that's playing on the radio.
Here are some reasons I thought of on why you should avoid nightcoring mainstream songs:
- Nightcoring mainstream songs disregards the definition of nightcore set forth by its founding fathers. It basically throws the definition out the window (for lack of a better term). For more information, see this thread: http://www.nightcoreuniverse.net/viewto ... =11&t=1316
- Mainstream songs have been "nightcored" countless times already. Your upload is likely to be buried deep in the Youtube search pages, meaning that it will be hard for people to find your video, and you won't gain much views.
- Mainstream songs tend to have more copyright problems (at least in my experience). They are more likely to be blocked by record companies, generate copyright strikes, and have ads next to the video.
- If you do decide to create an account on Nightcore Universe, you won't be allowed to post your videos or channel here. This forum has members that are very knowledgeable in nightcore who can help you improve and get your channel going. They are more likely to help you (and respect you) if you go the extra mile to make sure your videos/channel adheres to the Nightcore Posting Regulations (Link: http://www.nightcoreuniverse.net/viewto ... =11&t=1349).

Re: How to Nightcore a song! (NIGHTCORE TUTORIAL)
Something I've noticed in music these days is that more and more non-nightcorable genres are incorporating elements of techno/trance into said genre. While this makes nightcoring more challenging for newbies than in years past, still, even a gorilla could probably separate techno and pop songs.
The media acting as the eyes of the society ought to practice its role with the highest journalistic ethics possible; feeding the society with information of unquestionable source to perpetuate the credibility and the moral obligation bestowed to it.
