Every site has rules and this one is no exception. You should definitely read and agree to abide by these rules before you start posting. It is also your responsibility to check back from time to time to see if there are any new additions.
Rules apply to ALL parts of the site, including the chatbox and private messaging.
Staff preserve the right to ban, block, or otherwise remove any account or content without notice and for any reason we deem fit. If you do something that constitutes a ban, you WILL get one, regardless of whether or not it is outlined here. As such, do not try to exploit the rules or try to find loopholes in them.
- Show respect to staff and all other members. This includes, but is not limited to, anything racial, religious, rude, sexually explicit, insulting, threatening, blameful, abusive, hateful, ethnic, or just ANY general intent to annoy, troll, or flame others.
Harassment of forum members is not limited to site premises; doing it on another website, e-mail, chat client, etc. does not make you immune to punishment here. Keep in mind that this also includes the threat to hack another person's account or other actions related to hacking.
If a staff member tells you to cease an action, you MUST do so or face the consequences. - No pornography, inappropriate, offensive or otherwise 'not safe for work' material allowed in the forums. Do not argue with the staff about what is considered inappropriate and what is not. In the chatbox, try to keep it around the lines of PG-13. Sexual humor and discussion is allowed in circumstances where it is not greatly descriptive.
- Do not post Nightcore songs/channels/content that do not abide to the posting regulations.
- Absolutely no illegal content is to be provided on site premises with the exception of music. Please do not ask for it.
No music is to be hosted at NU.net, but rather linked to from sites such as YouTube, Newgrounds, or public file hosts.
For more information, consult the disclaimer. - Don't try to evade a ban or let a banned member use your account. Ban evasion is defined as creating a new account or using another account FOR ANY REASON after you are banned. Doing so will immediately void any second chances you may have.
- Do not make or use multiple accounts. One account per lifetime only. You are allowed to have multiple accounts in a household as long as you inform staff prior to the creation of an additional account. - There's no specifics on signatures, but be moderate; don't stack excessively, don't add eye-straining images, or have a lot of images/links. If you are unsure of whether your signature falls under this category, contact a staff member. Staff preserve the right to contact you if your signature is unacceptable/remove it without prior warning.
- Don't advertise other sites in posts or threads; you are free to use your signature for this if you desire as long as it kept to a moderation. No referral links, please.
- As of today, the 28th of december 2014, any other member caught with the intentional leakage of another member's personal information will be permanently banned from our website. This will never be tolerated, ever again.
These are "community guidelines" - they're not full-blown rules nor are strictly enforced, but repeated offenses can result in punishment.
- Keep all foul language to a minimum -- don't direct it to another person.
- Avoid quoting really big posts/parts of posts except for moderation purposes.
- Don't spam. Spam is defined as having no relevancy to the thread or topic.
- Don't post multiple times in a row unless you have a reasonable justification for it. (Reserved posts, etc.)
- Stay on topic; if you want to talk about something different, create a new topic.
- Use the search button to look for an already existing thread before creating a new one. Categorize threads in the most appropriate sections.
- Don't minimod; we have enough staff as is. Minimodding includes comments such as 'This thread should be closed', 'You spammed!' or anything that solely enforces the rules. If you feel a thread should be closed, or a post be deleted thereof, use the report button instead.
- Don't ask to become a part of the staff. Staff aren't appointed often, and when they are, it's on free will.
- This forum is for English speakers: please keep it as such and refrain from foreign talk as it makes it harder to moderate.
Board warnings, bans, or revoked privileges can be issued for violations. Board warnings do not expire for one year. Due to varying severity of rule breaches, there is no set amount of warnings to be accumulated before bans are issued; this is to the discretion of the staff.
If you feel as if the actions of a staff member were unfair, you are encouraged to contact them via private messaging or e-mail to get it sorted out.
If you are banned, you may contact the Board Administrator if you wish to appeal. Instructions pertaining that can be viewed in the ban message. Do not attempt ban evasion.
