NU.net's first anniversary! (COMPETITION)

Post by Kirby » April 8th, 2011, 5:48 pm

On April 8th, 2010 at 3:20 pm, the forums were made!
I'd like to thank everyone here for helping NU.net become the biggest and longest-running Nightcore fan community on the web :) It's been a great year; although inactive at many times we've still managed to get a substantial amount of posts, topics and members.

To celebrate, I do have a little competition - anyone who can find the original artist of this classic Maikel upload (circa 2009) will win FREE PROMOTION on Maikel's channel provided no one else on YouTube figures it out first.

The free promotion will last for two weeks and includes:
  • A video of your choice (must be a music upload of yours, HD preferred) featured on Maikel's channel page w/ autoplay, if desired
  • Placement in Maikel's box (you'll have to share with HDTranceMusic2, although you'll still be in the first slot)
  • Encouraging bulletins/channel comments/tweets/Facebook statuses telling Maikel's followers to check out your channel!
If you win, all of this is for you or another uploader of your choice. If it's not you, the chosen should have under 500 subscribers gained using legitimate methods & provide similar music to the tastes of NU's audience.

The song is - you might've guessed it:

There is no deadline. Guesses should be posted in this thread.
Good luck! You'll probably need it ..

This unknown song is from a vinal (Record) it was about 4.34 seconds long un-nightcored and from mid 80's from the sounds. the vinal was a 12" from the way it scratches, so mostly impossible to find the artist. Unless someone has a old record of the song LOL :D not many people upload vinals anymore :(

>.< I slowed it down, removed the robotic noise, I ran it though Lyric sites by the correct lyrics, I ran it through Shazam, I also went though a multi search from all records, and nothing on the internet... all up to someone who might have better luck now lol, or who could have the record xD

You guys seriously aren't going to help each other, right? :P
I mean, there's nothing I can do to stop you from getting help from people you might know on the Internet or in real life, but there will be no splitting of prizes. There will be one winner and that will be the person who posts the correct artist first.

I don't know what the actual answer is and neither does Maikel. None of the guesses I've seen so far come close, though.

Meh, helping is fun cause it gets the song found faster, and at the moment I mainly want to know what the song is xD

I'd guess mid 90's as this kind of sound surely never hit the 80's, make a quick search on Blümchen and Dune; they have some similar tracks. If it "scratches" like this, it's because it's been transcoded a truck load of times.

If you said this song can be from the 90's, this nightcore can be the original?

Nightcore doesn't have a original, Nightcore is a remix of a original sadly :(

I don't know if I'm making a stupid history, but nightcore appeared in 1992 (I think) and the male voice was speed up (in that moment) for making happy the song.

Nope, Nightcore is WAY younger than that. Also, Nightcore is only about speeding up music; mostly epic trance and vocal trance

After hours and hours of searching, I found this horrible website that has tons of 80's vinyl.
Might help you ring a bell
Cheers

Just to save you time. I highly doubt the original will be from the 80's.
Basslines like you hear in the song and fast snare beats didn't exist then....

In the 90's they had a trace break where awesome songs where made, but never left the studio, some people managed to get copies cause of thee relations. This could be one of them songs I suppose, and the original uploader had maybe the only copy =/

Like all original nightcores, this song will be from the very late 90's or early 00's

If this song is too hard for you guys to figure out, I could talk to Maikel about offering promotions for other unsolved mysteries he has. Promotion times for them will be lower.

Please do, I've used all of my ressources beside using an incredible amount of money to gather all obscure tape and vynil I can (and you can guess I won't do that; ever)

I believe it's better to offer promotions depending on the quality/obscurity of the content someone produces rather than whether or not they can win some silly competition like this.
However, find the artist of this song and I'll be so kind as to reconsider:

:P Either way, I'll make sure to give you madd props.

It is a song by the original Nightcore. What I'm asking for here is the artist of the original song they sped and pitched up.

If the answer could be found using simplistic keywords on Google, I wouldn't give you the challenge. :P

Couldn't find the actual track or vynil, but lyrics from "Patra And The Imperial Force - Why" gives me a perfect match. Coincidence? Random spams from random websites?

I have no idea/can find nothing about who "Patra And The Imperial Force" is, so I have no way of verifying anything.
