Wow, nice find! It seems like a lot of musical genres have had trouble keeping their identity.

It's hard to compete though. I'm glad we took efforts where needed, if you search for any concrete definition of nightcore, you'll notice people talking about the definition held here.

From what I know, as long as you don't overdo it (don't raise it all with 40%) and you also raise the tempo and pitch (aka Speed) with the same amount and not unevenly, you should be good in that department.
