DCX Nightcore - Songs From The Thousand Lakes

Post by joelkalsi » August 22nd, 2015, 11:48 am

Hi there,

Glad to announce our first nightcore only record, purposefully made to be a nightcore EP. Looking forwards to making more tracks like these, and thinking we may release the original songs later under DCX, but making these nightcore releases first. Got something else coming from DCX later on, but here are the new tracks at Spotify :

This is really good, especially "You" and "Trust Me" :O

The purists on here would probably want a slightly higher BPM still before referring to this as true Nightcore, but regardless of that it still sounds great like this :) Hopefully the EP does well on Spotify!

The current trend of 128BPM doesn't get as fast as the regular ~140BPM tracks (in example older Cascada) with the same pitch of 20%, but I'm also looking into making some faster material in the future :)

Thanks for the feedback -- For me too "You" is one of the best, if not the best of the five, but "Follow Me" is a nice massive track in it's original non-speeded form. On the other hand "Trust Me" often stays playing in mind long after listening to it :)

Btw the cover art of the compilation was inspired around a photo of a hair design, which was done by the former DCX singer Katri's sister Kati Metso (and where Katri made the make-up). Took me a couple of nights to draw but was a fun project in itself. Check out the awesome design work called "Pohjanakka" ("Wrench/witch of the North") below from their hair dress saloon's page :

Yeah I did understand that the originals would have to be sped up a whole lot to reach the typical speed, to the point of sounding very unnatural :) The most important thing is the sound and feel of the tracks anyway, at least in my opinion.

And that hair is... very hairy indeed.

There's also a new compilation "The Secret Archives Vol 2", which includes some older unreleased tracks that are a bit faster :)

So many good ones :O

Now I'm curious how "The Future Is Today" sounds like when it's not on speed, hehe.

Again, lots of really awesome tracks, both regular and nightcore! The Future Is Today definitely sounds way better at ordinary speed ^^
